My brain is pretty fried right now, but from yesterday and today’s passages, I learned that Nehemiah faced opposition from other people, who tried to rebel against the Jews in their rebuilding of the temple, but the Jews prayed to God and asked Him for protection, and God was faithful to them. The poor also faced oppression, and Nehemiah made the rich people promise to give back to the poor what they had. Also, the old governors had big taxes on the people but Nehemiah did not force the Jews to pay high fees for things.
I want to trust God with my own protection when I am faced with opposition and safety concerns. Also, when I see injustice, I want to speak up as well. Those are just some thoughts that crossed my mind while I was reading.
